• I am excited to be a member of the Cartersville Elementary School family.  Although I was raised in Douglas and Carroll Counties, I spent the first four years of my life in Cartersville.  I have several family members that live in the Cartersville Community.  I have always considered Cartersville to be my home and when presented with an opportunity to come back and serve the CES community, I could not pass up this once in a lifetime chance.  It is my goal to work with all CES stakeholders to provide a meaningful and fun learning experience for all students as we continue to build legacies, one student at a time.  After years of working with teenagers, I look forward to supporting and encouraging elementary students who are at a critical point in their educational journey.  I want all CES students to feel confident and successful, and I want them to believe that their goals are achievable with hard work and determination.  I can’t wait for the new school year to begin so that I can build relationships within the ‘Cane community.

I have been an educator for 21 years.  I graduated from Villa Rica High School, earned my undergraduate degree from the University of West Georgia and earned graduate degrees in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia and Kennesaw State University.  I began my teaching career in Cobb County as a Social Studies teacher at Smitha Middle School.  I have also served students in Haralson, Douglas and Polk counties as Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, Freshman Academy Assistant Principal, Career and Technical Agriculture Education (CTAE) Director, Principal and CEO of the Douglas County College and Career Institute and most recently, Principal and CEO of the Polk County College and Career Academy.

My wife Megan and I have been married for 21 years, and we have two beautiful daughters, Brooke and Kelsey.  As a family, we love to travel to the beach, play with our puppy Millie and cheer for the Georgia Bulldogs.

It's a great day to be a "Purple Hurricane"!!  Go Canes!
