Mrs. Molly Gann

I am honored to work at Cartersville Middle School and to be a part of your children's lives. My decision to become an educator is one that I have always been proud of, and to be able to use my experience at CMS is an exciting opportunity!

Although I am not a native of Cartersville, I have lived here since 1991, and consider this my hometown After completing my undergraduate degree at JSU, I moved here to teach sixth grade at Cass Middle School. Since that time, I have served in many different capacities in the Bartow County School System, including elementary, middle, and high school teacher, high school literacy coach, graduation coach, and assistant principal. Additionally, I served as Literacy Coordinator for Gordon County Schools for three years before teaching eighth-grade language arts at CMS, where I rekindled my love for the classroom.  After my retirement, I found myself back in my hometown of Hokes Bluff, Alabama, where I served as a reading interventionist for five months and then assistant principal for two and a half years.

In the years I spent serving as an eighth-grade teacher at Cartersville Middle School, I fell in love with the students, teachers, and staff here. The Cartersville School System is second to none in ensuring our students’ needs are met and that each of them is challenged and supported in their endeavors to become productive citizens and lifelong learners. The unparalleled Hurricane pride and sense of community make me proud to serve in this community.

With Jason, my husband of 24 years, we have one son, Evan, two daughters, KayLee Grace and Ari, a daughter-in-law, Tatum, and nine-month-old granddaughter, Hollis James. Evan, Tatum, and Hollis James live in Trussville, AL.  My oldest daughter, KayLee Grace will be married October 11th of this year to Jack Lacaillade and will reside in New Smyrna Beach, FL.  Ari is a junior at Georgia Southern and is studying fashion merchandising and design. Our family loves Alabama football, and we enjoy attending games or cooking out and watching the games together on Saturdays. We also love to travel, hike, and, of course, spend time with our sweet new granddaughter.

I am so excited to have the opportunity to further serve the students at Cartersville Middle School in my new capacity as AP.  I love our Hurricane family and am honored to work alongside such outstanding educators who go above and beyond to build relationships with our students and inspire them to grow as individuals. It has truly been my life’s work to cultivate knowledge and encourage students to be everything they dream of being.

I look forward to working with you as parents to ensure we give our students the best each day. Please contact me if I can help you in any way!   It is going to be a great year!  Go Canes!
